WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR!

The holidays are over; it’s a new month, a new year. January provides us with a clean slate, a fresh start, there’s a newness of where we are heading or what we could be about, what we could accomplish in 2015. As the saying goes, you have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. We all need reminding, from time to time, that we are in control of our own path. It’s as simple as choosing which direction to go.

The month of January takes its name from Janus, the Roman god of gates and doorways. He is depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. He views what is in the past and what is in the future. Both perspectives are valuable. We learn from our past. We look back and realize the past is where we gained experience, memories and wisdom. The opposite direction is about the future and looking forward to new adventures and accomplishments.

Now is a good time to reflect and take stock of what you accomplished this past year. It’s also a great time to look forward and set some goals for the things you want to achieve in the year ahead.

We, here at Dr. Dunne’s office, hope you had a good 2014 and wish you all the best in the coming year. In the wise words of Theodor Seuss Geisel…
