SPRING CLEANING FOR YOUR TEETH

Spring has Sprung!

Spring cleaning is a ritual that we all try to take part in this time of year. Getting things tidied up and cleaned out is a great feeling everybody relates to. As the weather turns, flowers bloom and the sunshine starts brightening things up, it feels so good to make a fresh start yourself! As you’re cleaning stuff out and freshening things up, we’ve got a few tips on how to refresh your child’s smile!

  • Replace your child’s toothbrush
As a general guide, it’s a good idea to replace your child’s toothbrush about every three months. If you haven’t done so recently, now’s a great time to do so.
  • Replenish your supplies
Low on floss? Flouride Rinse? Toothpaste? Make a list of the dental gear you’re low on and restock before you run out.
  • Schedule a dental appointment
When was the last time your child was in for a checkup and cleaning? Chances are, the holidays — from Halloween to Valentine’s Day — took a bit of a toll on your child’s teeth; oh, the candy! oh, the food! A short visit to Dr. Dunne’s office could prevent the need for more intensive treatment later on.
  • Assess your habits
Do you and your child practice the 2 & 2 rule, brushing for two minutes twice a day? How about flossing every day? Keeping sugary, sticky treats to a minimum? Making sure to schedule that check up every six months? Now’s a good time to reinstate your child’s hygiene habits if you’ve let them slide a little.
  • We, here at Dr. Dunne’s office, care deeply about your child’s overall health and well-being. We are happy and proud to be your choice in helping you take care of your child’s teeth!
